This is Robert, a man that just lost his home to a fire a week ago.
His son and my daughter, Agape, are Special Olympics team mates. He and his family are humble, country folk, of very modest means, but there isn't anything that they wouldn't do, or spare any expense for the team because they love all those kids with all their being. Thankfully, their home was insured, and the good people of our small community are responding generously. It's obvious he has much to ponder with a family to care for including 2 disabled adults. So, please say a little prayer for him when you thank the good Lord for all your blessings. I am conviced more than ever that my passion and work (preserving life's memories through photography) matters, when I consider this: The only things that they tried to salvage the day after the blaze was their family photographs!

Go, Team!!!
The Carroll County Special Olympics Basketball team is on the way to their first ever tournament game at Virginia Tech on Sunday, February, 25. They have participated in the skills competition the last few years, and now, with the dedicated leadership of our coach, Vickey Richey, they are ready to play real basketball!! The kids are totally pumped. They received their new uniforms today and can't wait to show them off next Sunday during the hometown exposition at Carroll County Intermediate School in Hillsville. VA. If any of you are nearby, please come out and cheer them on!
Good luck to Agape, Brittany G., Brittany H., David, Donnie, Emily, Jeannie, Jessica ,JoAnna, Jordan, LaRae, LJ, Nathan, Shane, Tequila,Tasha, and Travis. GO CARROLL COUNTY!!!

Where in the World Has Charlotte Been This Month?
The answer would be: in Winston Salem with The Rejoice Ringers. Many of you know that I ring handbells with the best ever, anywhere church ensemble, directed by the the best of the best, Debbie Rice. We are in the midst of recording a new CD, so it has been intense rehearsing twice a week, an all day recording session last Saturday at the beautiful St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, and several full days of shooting for this project this month.
So, meet Rejoice!
And here are some shots from our days (and nights) at St. Timothy's:
