Tonight will be the last page of the Pawley's Island trip scrapbook. Then it's off to shoot a wedding tomorrow in Greensboro, come back to Galax to go to the second ever Contra Dance at the Stringbean tomorrow night, then make music with the JoyBell Ringers on Sunday morning here at First Baptist.

Shrimp Festival

The day we were driving to Pawley's Island just happened to be Shrimp Festival Day in McClellanville. What a fun (and tasty) thing to stumble upon!

Mmmmm . . . how I love to eat them!

The Highlight of the festival is the blessing of the fleet for the opening of shrimp season.

What would a festival be without arts and crafts to buy?

Fun motif! This might be inspiration for my "branding." That is one of those BIG decisions that is holding me back from launching a real website.

Gone to the Beach

I have been gone!!! Thankfully, one of those places I've gone to was the beach. We stayed at the most charming retro beach cottages ever on Pawley's Island. The walls were host to quite a Rogue's gallery. I loved the vintage photographs!!

Life's a Beach

Well, life was a beach for a couple of days, but it's been a whirlwind ever since! The awesome, fantastic JoyBell Ringers played their last concert of the year yesterday in a lovely venue for a most discerning and appreciative audience at Salemtowne, the Moravian Retirement Community in Winston Salem.

Today, we are headed off for another adventure in Williamsburg, VA for a few days. If there is time and internet, I will add pics from the last week.

God is So Good

I spent the better (and much earlier!) part of today writing a letter of recommendation to support Briana's application to win a scholarship to attend the premier Distinctly Teen event in Orlando this summer. I really, really, really, really, really, want her to win it!!! In digging up evidence to support her case, I came across this old video of her and Dylan playing this duet their first year in bells. They were SO good and SO little then!! I hope you aren't too embarrassed to find this on my blog, Briana! Here's wishing you all the luck and more than a few prayers that they pick you. And if anybody from the national AGEHR office just so happens to drop by, I have some good advice for you: Pick a Winner! Pick Briana!!

The Doctor and the Doll

Dr. David has had a clock in his office with this painting on it ever since he opened. When the JoyBells went to Discovery Place a couple of weeks ago, we saw this wonderful Norman Rockwell exhibit there. They had quite a few of these models of his painting on display along with the magazine covers. Speaking of the magazine covers, I really had no grasp of how prolific this man was until I walked through this maze of walls covered with his Post magazine illustrations. What a grand life work!
