M.I.A.

Yes, it's true: I have been ABSENT.
My sister has been in the hospital for almost 2 weeks now. When I got the call last Saturday, we were on our way to Roanoke for a work day at the Rescue Mission. It didn't make much sense to go all the way back to Galax for stuff since I was already an hour and a half into the trip to Va. Beach, so I sized up the situation, made the necessary arrangements, jumped on my trusty steed, and rode to her rescue, sans stuff. I did stop at a Walmart to buy a toothbrush and an airbed with which to fortify myself for the siege. It was down and dirty on Sunday, but we managed to turn the tide on Monday. So, Janet is still a mighty overcomer of stage 4 breast cancer (and a valiant survivor of all the hellish treatment for it): 4.5 years and counting!!

And since I am back home with my faithful Mac, you get a puzzle:

Prayers for your sister!! May she have at least 4.5 more years!! And prayers to you for another delightful puzzle. My day isn't complete without one. But I understand when they don't show up! Mary

I am so sorry to hear about your sister --- I , too , have breast cancer and the fight is long and hard -- my best to her and to you -- I enjoy your pictures , puzzles , etc. I feel like your family is mine also .

Thank you both, so much for the warm thoughts. I am humbled that strangers; rather, friends I haven't met yet, would reach out across the blogosphere to support and comfort me. It makes me happy to know that I have brought some small pleasure your way.

To my unnamed, courageous friend: You are a champion and an inspiration! My prayers go with you into the battle. Kick some cancer butt, you hear?

As my brain is a little foggy -- I forgot to mention -- keep us informed on your sister's condition -- may she have a long wonderful life . As for the hellish treatments she endured -- I know first hand -- "hellish" is putting it mildly .
