Sharing the Love Today

My great guardian angel, supporter, advocate, and doner of all the handbell equipment at my church has been hospitalized the last few weeks with a fracture; his second recently. It has really taken a toll on him, so The JoyBell Ringers wanted to bring him a little cheer. Two small groups have each learned 4 pieces of "8 Bell Music" so we could fit in his hospital room and play a mini concert for him without having to use tables. When the first group went on Monday, staff and patients gathered outside his door to listen. One lady asked us if we would play for her uncle who is a patient in the Hospice Room. Of course, we were glad to share, and they tearfully thanked us for bringing a ray of sunshine into the last days of their loved one's life. Today, the second group played for several other apreciative patients, too. What a delight it is to bring joy to others, and to see children get the message that it is more blessed to give than to receive.

This is such a sweet post. I feel really honored that I got a live "web cast" of your practice session. It was really beautiful - what a meaningful thing you are doing with these kids and your music!
