Kylie's Mermaid Jigsaw PuzzleThis is a mermaid that Amber made for her little cousin, Kylie Marie, last summer at the beach. Today, Kylie's dad (my husband's little bro' and family hypochondriac) went in for a heart cath and came out with a new stint in his Left Anterior Descending Artery (the BIG one.) Very, very sobering. Stephen has been "good" all his life: no smoking, lots of exercise, conscientious, heart-healthy diet, all the right moves, NO SYMPTOMS, and family history trumps them all! I've always lived with the spector of this "in the future" (Their father dropped dead at 61); well, the future has arrived. How very thankful we are that Stephen obsessed enough to prod his family doctor into action and for this good outcome.
Stephen, Vicki, Kylie, and Kade: we love you and hold you in our thoughts and prayers as the wild ride this week comes to a finish.
